Our Fish 

While a chippy doesn’t exactly scream "health food," it’s actually one of the best takeaway options that gym bros and healthy living gurus can unite around. Cod and haddock are rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Being a natural product straight from the sea, packed with protein and with no added ingredients, a good chippy is pure guilt-free indulgence.We focus on sourcing larger fish for that perfect flaky, meaty texture. Once it arrives at The Scrap Box, every fillet is hand-prepped and portioned on-site to keep things consistent and fresh.

Our Chips

We used to prep our own chips in-house, but now we work with a brilliant supplier who does it even better — and more sustainably too!
They specialise in making fresh chips daily for chippies like ours, delivering them vacuum-packed to maintain perfect condition without needing any additives.
Our chips are made from UK-grown potatoes — mostly from the rich soils of Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire — and when you visit, you’ll even see which farm your batch came from.
Once they arrive, we cook them fresh: first blanching at a low temperature, then finishing at a high temperature to get that golden outside and fluffy middle.

Our Batter 

 Our batter? It’s a simple, natural blend of two UK-milled flours, no additives, and just a traditional raising agent - giving you that famous spiky, crunchy finish. We're forever asked what the secret is to our batter - its all in the process, ice cold water, made regularly and as thin as possible. Bit boring sorry!

Our Beef Dripping 

The chip is, by definition, a potato in which the water content has been replaced by fat — so it’s incredibly important to source and manage the frying medium properly.
We use Yorkshire-favourite beef dripping — a natural by-product of beef, meaning no extra footprint, just maximum flavour.
Our dripping comes from the fat of Irish cattle  and is triple-filtered daily to keep your food crisp, clean, and delicious.
